How to Plan Your Professional Branding Photography Session

4 Tips on Planning Your PERFECT Professional Branding Photography Session

TIP 1: Choose a photographer to fit your style

Choose a photographer whose shooting and editing style fits your style and the overall aesthetic of the look you want to achieve for your brand. For example, if you want your brand to be bright, cheerful, and welcoming, don’t choose a dark and moody style photographer. Make sure you look through their portfolio and visit blog posts to see past personal branding work.

Tip 2: Get your props and outfits organized and ready!

Plan out the props and outfits that you will be using in your photoshoot. Are you a work from home boss babe who drinks lattes on the couch with her dog? Plan on providing your favorite mug, your laptop, and your favorite work outfit. I recommend preparing a range of outfits from cute and casual to more formal. It’s good to create a variety of looks so when you go to share photos on your social media feed, you are not always in the same outfit.

Tip 3: Create a game plan

There’s no doubt, you have a lot you want to cover during your session. Make a list of all the shots you want, including the outfits and props for the photos. Share your list with your photographer ahead of time so that you are both on the same page. Having an organized outline of every photo you need will help make your photoshoot go smoothly and efficiently.

Tip 4: RELAX

On the day of your photoshoot, relax and have fun! You have already put in the hard work to prepare. Now it’s time to focus on being you and letting your personality shine through the photographs. These photos will be a visual representation of your business and help your future clients connect with you!
