Your Home is the Most Meaningful Place for a Newborn Photoshoot
Photographs taken in your home are like little family time capsules. This is the home you brought your baby to. This place is the start of your new adventure in parenting and the beginning of thousands of memories you will create as a family. Your home is part of your story. It creates a personal and unique setting for newborn photos. What better place to document this magical time together as a new family than in your child’s first home?
Lighting is Unique in Each Room!
As a natural light photographer I am able to evaluate the lighting in your home in order to provide the most pleasing newborn lifestyle photos. When I arrive, I will first check out the lighting in every room and make a plan. If you have bright walls with lots of windows, your photos will be bright and airy. If you have darker rooms, we will create more images with shadow and depth. Both are SO beautiful in a newborn photoshoot! I love using a variety of rooms around the home and capturing moments in both lighting settings. The best thing is that photos taken in your home are so uniquely YOU!
Nursery Details
You spent time decorating the perfect nursery for your new baby! You poured your love into every inch of the space! Taking newborn photos at home documents all these precious little details..... your baby’s first books, first blankets, and more!
Your Pets!
At home you can easily have your cat or dog join in the fun! Does your pet have to be perfectly well behaved to create meaningful family photos? No! I usually arrange the family first, and then add the dog or cat into the frame. Treats help too!
Grandparents are Around!
Often grandparents are visiting during baby’s first few weeks. I always encourage them to join in for a few photos. This creates a very special opportunity for multi-generational family photo sessions.
